Whole Foods Market
- Miami, FL
BRR Architecture and Whole Foods Market collaborated on a unique location in Miami, Florida that nestles into the corner of luxury condo development, Forma. This 50,812-square-foot multi-level grocery store features a retail mezzanine in addition to the sales floor, along with a wide range of departments from produce to seafood to floral and more. The exterior façade stands out in the coastal Miami community for its vivid splashes of color and plant wall feature.
BRR joined the project team in 2021 and coordinated with the core and shell teams through the design process. To ensure a smooth design, permitting and construction process, the BRR team met with the developer and city inspectors early in the project to create a relationship of familiarity from the offset.
The store’s location within the larger development prompted the team to puzzle together which building systems would connect exclusively within the Whole Foods Market while also being cognizant of which would only tie into the shell building.
A core focus of the team throughout the project was balancing the goals of the development, the tenant and the client to achieve a result that aligned with everyone’s vision. The construction team broke ground in November 2024 and completed the project in June 2025.
