Architectural designers contribute to the overall team and assigned program in coordinating, scheduling, evaluating and developing processes to improve production efficiencies through the effective management of projects and tasks. They will assist in architectural research, document/design development, and program-wide implementation efforts.

Qualifications

  • Strong Revit skills required
  • Strong communication skills along with the willingness to mentor, learn, and contribute in a smaller collaborative office environment
  • Must have the capacity to understand and communicate complex issues that involve all functional areas including architectural, engineering and project budgets

  • Drive to research and utilize technology in architectural applications
  • Architectural license or pursuit of licensure preferred

Permit coordinators work closely with project teams and jurisdictions to successfully coordinate the permitting process for our projects. As a critical full-time member of BRR, this position acts as the “Director of First Impressions” to provide top-notch service to our clients, vendors, and guests.

Responsibilities
  • Complete research and code calls with all applicable agencies to obtain information pertaining to requirements for obtaining permits i.e. Building Permit, Sign Permit(s), Planning approvals, etc.
  • Submit or arrange for submission of project to agencies for plan review/permitting once the plans are complete.
  • Coordinate contracts and fee proposals with clients and consultants. Tracks and communicates approvals.
  • Follow-up with agencies regularly to obtain status of plan reviews
  • Once required plan approvals have been received, obtain requirements on pulling the required permits.
  • Keep client’s spreadsheet, database, etc. and BRR’s database updated as required.
  • Upload, distribute plans as requested by the client for updates to the project, bidding, and award distributions.
  • Work with the Project Managers and Designers throughout the permitting process.
  • General administrative responsibilities including, but not limited to, filing, copying, and other report completion.
Qualifications
  • Project a positive, can-do attitude and have effective communication skills with all team members and management as well as clients and consultants.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks, be detail oriented, well organized and effective when meeting deadlines.
  • Previous administrative and general office experience necessary with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office – Word, Excel & Outlook skills, with basic office administration skills.
  • 3-5 years’ experience with professional service industry/architecture/engineering firm preferred.
  • Permitting experience a plus.

We’re seeking a talented graphic designer to join the Marketing & Communications team in our Kansas City-area office. This team member would be responsible for leading the design and production of marketing materials including (but not limited to) portfolios, proposals, digital advertising campaigns, email marketing, website graphics, social media, recruitment campaigns, event signage and promotional items. 

 

We’re a national design firm with 11 offices, and our team supports team members across the country. Our goal is to provide seamless and full service marketing and communications support firmwide.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate and facilitate the art direction and formatting of design deliverables and produce necessary communications pieces including (but not limited to): portfolios, website, social media, video, wayfinding, event invitations and internal communications.
  • Collaborate internally to conceptualize and execute creative solutions that can be translated across various media platforms, including print, digital, video and social media.
  • Design and maintain library of digital graphics, including assets for website, email marketing, social media, advertising, etc.
  • Experience with digital asset management systems a plus but not mandatory. Knowledge of website layouts and user experience preferred.
  • Provide aesthetic direction related to the BRR brand and design additional assets for brand library. Brand optimization experience preferred but not mandatory.
  • Coordinate and maintain vendor relationships for offsite printing and production of BRR marketing materials when needed.
  • Participate in marketing-related brainstorming sessions.
  • Ability to provide art direction on photo shoots, including photo editing/retouching for projects.
  • Provide daily updates and feedback on assigned projects
  • Stay current with design-related trends, software, technology and workflow processes.
Qualifications
  • Graphic Design, Studio Art, or equivalent bachelor’s degree; 2-5+ years’ experience, A/E/C industry preferred.
  • Software Proficiencies: Adobe Creative Suite for design. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Wordpress, SurveyMonkey and MailChimp. Hand illustration and motion graphics skills a plus.
  • Portfolio review required. Ideal candidate will have examples of strong, creative design solutions, brand proficiency, and compelling typographic and layout skills.
  • Candidate must be outgoing, team-oriented, have a positive attitude, demonstrate strong communication skills and pay close attention to detail. Must have strong organizational and project management skills; must be a self-starter with the ability to track deadlines and manage multiple projects independently.
  • Ideal candidate can take direction from others and work towards appropriate design solutions all the while keeping supervisors and team members apprised of progress and/or challenges.

This position will utilize knowledge of construction products, detailing, materials, and methods to perform the quality control process for a variety of complex projects and building types including retail, hospitality, grocery, office environments, and industrial.

Responsibilities
  • Review in-progress projects, ensuring complete and coordinated construction drawings and offering modifications and improvements when needed.
  • Be the go-to resource for architects and design staff for design review, constructability, building performance, and sustainability goals.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines – phases, milestone deliveries, and various project delivery types.
  • Confirm the project coordination of all disciplines and consultants.
  • Propose continual development and improvements of construction drawings including its specialized content for project type or regional conditions, based on project work.

Qualifications
  • NAAB accredited degree in Architecture
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience
  • Professional licensure required
  • Knowledge of building codes and construction techniques is essential
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, teamwork, collaboration and problem-solving skills
  • Must be proficient in MS Office and working with MasterSpec
