The Fresh Market
- Louisville, KY
BRR Architecture transformed an existing retail space into The Fresh Market, a 26,000-square-foot grocery store in Louisville, Kentucky. BRR collaborated with the client to establish a new brand standard and entirely new prototype. This, and future locations, feature finishes like a copper awning over the deli, tilework along the meat and seafood service aisle and warm wood LVT flooring.
This location features interior and exterior seating, bakery, quick-service food counter, meat and seafood department, floral department, bulk candy aisle and more. BRR designers worked closely with the client to establish the layout and determine which offerings which would appeal to their customers.
BRR took the existing retail building and converted it into a grocery store, which involved a structural overhaul. This included adding a truck dock, expanding the rear building and slab replacement to accommodate new underground plumbing and electrical runs. The roof was reinforced to support new HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
BRR was happy to work with the client and help develop their new prototype and help determine the brand standards of The Fresh Market for future stores to come.
