These standards respond directly to customer needs and how individuals interact with products and services within the Supercenter. The new design budgets space in the floorplan for elevated home, beauty and apparel departments to spotlight products in an example-based format.
The BRR team incorporated enhanced lighting and modern finishes throughout the building and designed an elevated pharmacy, which provides a health service room and drive thru. BRR designed for additional customer offerings like a Vision Center, Auto Care Center, sushi kiosk and Dunkin’ to grab coffee while shopping.
Walmart Fuel Station
The Cypress, Texas Walmart Supercenter includes an on-site 8-pump fuel station that features Walmart’s all-new design standards, which includes a bright “True Blue” façade and new vinyl wrapping around the exterior canopy. In addition to fueling up, customers can purchase snacks, coffee options and a variety of travel options and essentials.
While this next-generation Supercenter addresses the needs of Walmart’s customers, these new standards extend to back-of-house areas to reinforce the new look and era of Walmart’s brand. The employee lounge and training center provides a calm and enjoyable environment for teammates with a kitchenette, vinyl wrapping for teammate engagement, updated locker systems and more.
The process of designing the ‘store of the future’ began in 2021; BRR and the client team collaborated closely to finalize its unique design to serve as an example of future iterations to come. Construction started in May 2024 and the location grand opened in April 2025.
