StudioRes is Marriott International’s new economy extended-stay brand, with one of the first locations open in Jacksonville, Florida. These projects are designed to offer a convenient and affordable location for extended stay guests, while minimizing development hurdles and cost for the developer. As a trusted advisor to Marriott and its development team, BRR leveraged deep experience in the extended-stay sector to help bring the StudioRes vision to life.

In Jacksonville, close collaboration with Noble Investment Group and Marriott enabled the team to value engineer the prototype while implementing optimizations on the prototype concept. This approach allowed BRR’s design team to thoughtfully adapt evolving prototype elements to real-world conditions to support the brand’s intended guest experience.

Guestrooms are spacious studios featuring in-room kitchens with a stovetop, full-size refrigerator and microwave. The kitchenette layout extends from the demising wall to mitigate cooking odors in adjacent spaces. The interior finishes are industrial modern with wood flooring, black accents, white vertical subway tile and a signature blue accent wall.

The lobby provides an open and welcoming environment with a range of seating options, anchored by a wood-slatted feature wall. The exterior façade incorporates fiber cement panels and lap siding, reinforcing a clean, modern aesthetic. The design team tailored amenities to longer stays and included an expanded laundry area, fitness center and lounge.

Through close collaboration across teams and expedited submittals, the general contractor, Integrated Construction, completed construction in less than one year. The final deliverable aligns with Marriott’s desired guest experience while remaining practical and efficient for the developer. BRR and Noble Investment Group are currently collaborating on more than 10 additional StudioRes locations across the country.
