Canvas Breaks Ground in Overland Park

Canvas, a multifamily development designed by BRR Architecture for Hunt Midwest, broke ground Oct. 5 in downtown Overland Park, Kansas. BRR’s multifamily sector leader, Nicole Curry, AIA, spoke at the ceremony on behalf of the design team.

Located at 8036 Metcalf Ave., a block from BRR’s headquarters, Canvas will redevelop a vacant lot into 227 residential units with modern amenities and more than 5,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and restaurant space. Guided by Hunt Midwest’s vision, BRR designed Canvas with cohesion, connection and community in mind.

“It is going to advance the Vision Metcalf Plan that the city of Overland Park has adopted by continuing to build up that urban corridor,” BRR President and CEO Mariah Meyer, AIA, told the Kansas City Business Journal.
