We’re excited to announce five promotions to principal within our leadership team.
Principal: Scott Brown
Scott Brown, AIA, LEED AP BD+C helps lead a studio of more than 25 team members working on retail remodel projects throughout the country. In addition to being a leader on his team, Scott has been a key voice in enhancing the programs and support BRR offers to professional staff pursuing licensure. He has also been a mentor to multiple team members going through the ARE process.
Principal: Jenna Markley
Jenna Markley, AIA works as a program manager and oversees BRR’s Long Beach office in Southern California. Since she joined the firm in 2014, she’s cultivated BRR’s relationship with one of our larger grocery clients and currently focuses on the advancement of our retail sector. Jenna’s worked on several sectors at the firm and has worked on all different project types from new builds to remodels and tenant improvements. With a methodical and detail-oriented mindset, she guides each project from pre-design through to construction. Jenna fosters a culture of curiosity and is passionate about sharing the architectural knowledge she’s accumulated with the team she oversees.
Principal: Austin Abbott
Austin Abbott, AIA, NCARB joined BRR in 2011. He has worked in the Bentonville, AR and Austin, TX offices, and currently leads the Seattle office as a Senior Associate. Austin collaborates with the firm’s national grocery clients and oversees large-scale project rollouts, including remodels, prototype development and maintenance programs. During his time in the Pacific Northwest, Austin has managed the growth and development of the Seattle office and its culture. Austin continuously fosters an environment of creativity and collaboration which results in thoughtful and high-quality solutions that are applied to his clients’ projects and their long-term goals.
Principal: Jennifer Lehmkuhl Corkrean
Jennifer Lehmkuhl Corkean, AIA, LEED GA, NCARB has project experience that covers projects in the retail, commercial, grocery and mixed-use markets. She currently leads one of our retail client account teams and is actively involved in all project phases, including design development and review, entitlement, construction documentation and administration. She also oversees coordination between engineering consultants and the clients. Jennifer’s diligence and attention to detail contributes to the firm’s mission to elevate the everyday and enrich the vision of our clients’ projects.
Principal: John Pennekamp
John Pennekamp, AIA is involved with aspects of our practice nationally, as well as locally in the Philadelphia office. He has been involved with a wide variety of project types, ranging from small commercial fit-out projects to large-scale grocery and industrial projects. Over the last few years, his specific focus has been on adaptive reuse of existing urban buildings to grocery store conversions in the New York City area. Currently, he serves as the program manager for some of our large grocery retail clients. Working on a variety of projects nationally has given him strong experience across multiple jurisdictions. He enjoys collaborating with a large team and bringing all the stakeholders to a successful project outcome.
