We’re excited to announce one new principal and six new associates within our team. This recognition is a testament to their unique, impactful and lasting contributions to the firm.
Principal: Culin Thompson, AIA, LEED GA
Culin Thompson joined BRR in 2017. Today, he spearheads a wide range of hotel projects, prototypes and programs from extended-stay to boutique hospitality ventures. His experience in hospitality, retail, market analysis and urban planning are utilized on projects spanning from Washington state to Florida. He brings creative approaches to unique design parameters.
Working from concept design through construction administration, Culin collaborates with clients throughout the entire project cycle to optimize development approaches and operational functions to help maximize their return on investments.
Associate: Elizabeth Bass
Since joining BRR in 2018, Elizabeth Bass has become a valuable teammate in the firm’s grocery sector, serving as project lead on one of BRR’s largest client relationships. Elizabeth has gained valuable fixture planning experience and has worked on remodels, new construction and tenant improvements for grocery clients. In addition to her years of architecture and design experience, Elizabeth is an individual who is organized, deadline-driven and provides excellent customer service to all her clients.
Associate: Greg Nakata, AIA
A Seattle native, Greg Nakata joined BRR’s Seattle office in 2025 and supports one of BRR’s largest clients on large, high profile grocery, retail and fulfillment projects. He brings a background in construction as a design engineer for a Seattle area general contractor along with an award-winning, nationwide design career. He is known for his attention to detail, strong documentation standards, efficiency-minded problem-solving and mentorship.
Beyond BRR, he authored “Let’s Adapt for Everyone!,” a first-of-its-kind guide to adapting devices for people with disabilities and has served as a Family Advisor at Seattle Children’s Hospital.
Associate: Michele Yoder, AIA
Michele Yoder brings deep expertise in grocery design, having led the largest project team for a major retail client in BRR’s Philadelphia office for several years. She is thoroughly skilled in the creation of quality construction documents, consultant coordination, quality control and construction administration. She’s a dedicated mentor, helping develop the next generation of talent on her team. She is also a committee chair for the ACE Mentor Program of Greater Philadelphia.
Associate: Scott Pfeifer
Scott Pfeifer leads BRR’s team supporting a major retail client’s new-store construction program out of the Bentonville office. A steadfast leader and coach, he invests heavily in emerging professionals on his team, helping them grow their skills and confidence. Scott also plays a key role in guiding the client through risk and reward on major decisions, bringing clarity and steady judgment to the process. Beyond his project work, he’s a strong contributor to BRR’s Bentonville office, leading community caring and office culture initiatives.
Associate: Shanks Huynh
Since joining BRR in 2019, Shanks Huynh has built a diverse set of experience on commercial architecture through work spanning fuel stations, grocery, convenience store, retail and other project types. She works closely with clients to understand their goals, develops solutions that fit the needs of each project, and serves as a trusted advisor throughout the process. Shanks believes in passing knowledge forward and contributing to something greater than herself, both at BRR and in the broader built environment.
Her contributions earned her several honors, including Ingram’s 20 in Their Twenties in 2022 and the AIA Kansas City President’s Award for Outstanding Service in 2021. She also serves on the City of Overland Park’s Board of Code Appeals.
Associate: Todd Kellhofer
Todd Kellhofer joined BRR in June 2013, bringing 12 years of prior experience on new-store, remodel and prototype projects for a major retail client. At BRR, he has managed remodels and special projects and now leads quality control on retail projects. With 25 years of experience in the retail sector, Todd is committed to passing that knowledge on to the firm’s next generation of architects and designers.
