Since joining BRR in 2019, Shanks has built a diverse set of experience on commercial architecture through work spanning fuel stations, grocery, convenience store, retail and other project types. She works closely with clients to understand their goals, develops solutions that fit the needs of each project, and serves as a trusted advisor throughout the process. Shanks believes in passing knowledge forward and contributing to something greater than herself, both at BRR and in the broader built environment. Her contributions earned her several honors, including Ingram’s 20 in Their Twenties in 2022 and the AIA Kansas City President’s Award for Outstanding Service in 2021. She also serves on the City of Overland Park’s Board of Code Appeals.
