Element by Westin

  • Jacksonville Beach, FL

The Element project came to BRR with a challenge to maximize the use of a constrained site. Located two blocks from the beach in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, the site featured a 35’ height restriction, frontage requirements, unique site access and fire restrictions. BRR produced multiple site fit options, coordinating directly with the owner on ways to maximize owner-preferences with city requirements and brand standards. Our team worked to maintain the feel of the prototype design of the building while modifying it significantly to meet the strict height restrictions.

The final design features a building that leverages natural tones and its proximity to the ocean to the fullest. A waving wood-textured ribbon wraps the exterior to mimic the waves of the ocean, and large windows and balconies provide ocean-views from individual guestrooms. Furnished with sustainable materials and a site adapted interior design scheme, the hotel carries a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere from the lobby patios through into individual guestrooms.
