At their annual awards celebration on May 5, the Kansas City Construction Specifications Institute (KCCSI) Chapter recognized the relocation and remodel of Country Club Bank’s headquarters with second place for “Excellence in Design.” The KCCSI’s annual awards recognize and celebrate innovative design, project delivery methods and innovative design.
The goal driving the design of the new headquarters was a collaborative environment that naturally allowed transparency for bank employees and clients. Close collaboration with the client throughout the design and production process verified that the proposed solutions both achieved project goals and also respected needs specific to a bank, like client privacy. The resulting design is one that merges the bank’s operational needs with their desired work space environment.
Country Club Bank’s move to 1 Ward Parkway was just equally a celebration for the brand as it was a strategic move to an updated and better-functioning space. With the bank celebrating 60 years in business at the time of the relocation, their move to the iconic Ward Parkway – where Country Club Bank first started – paid homage to their history while establishing an setting for continued growth.
“It was a rewarding experience to be a part of Country Club Bank’s relocation because, for their team, it was a return to and fresh take on their roots, all in one project,” said Megan Whitman, Associate & Director of Interiors. “They needed a space that could serve multiple functions for both staff and clients, and combined a variety of aesthetics. We’re very pleased with the resulting design and the positive feedback Country Club Bank has received because of it.”
