John Schweiger, AIA, LEED® AP Since graduating in 1990 from Kansas State
University with a Bachelor of Architecture degree, John has gained two decades of Architectural design
and project management experience at BRR. Projects include grocery, retail, restaurants, banks, and
offices. Additionally, John oversaw reconstruction efforts for several projects affected by Hurricane
Katrina. Currently, John manages BRR's Commercial Team and is a LEED Accredited Professional. He became
an Associate in 2002. John enjoys spending his time with friends and family, is an avid Bridge player
and enjoys home remodeling.
Adrian F. Eszter, AIA, LEED® AP Adrian joined BRR in 1992 and became an
Associate in 2003. He graduated from Demoron University in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1987 and received
his LEED Accreditation in 2006. Today, he leads BRR's Walmart International Team and has worked on
projects in Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Korea, Japan, Puerto Rico, Germany and Canada. Adrian enjoys
spending time with daughter Melanie as well as sailing, skiing, windsurfing and traveling abroad.
Rachel Taylor Since 2000, Rachel has been a fundamental part of developing and leading
the Accounting Team at BRR. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Management and Human Relations from
Mid-America Nazarene University. Rachel became an Associate in 2005. When not spending time with her
husband Jeremy, and sons Jacob and Nicholas, she enjoys gardening and reading a good book on the beach.
Teresa Murphy, AIA Teresa is Regional Manager for the Southeast and Florida division
of the Walmart Supercenter Team, which focuses on new stores of all prototype sizes. She joined BRR in 1998 after
earning a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1987. She has been licensed
in Oklahoma since 1992. Teresa became an Associate in 2005. Her hobbies include photography and
scrapbooking.
Michael Blinn, AIA Since joining BRR in 2003, Michael has been focused on Entitlement
and Building Design for the Southeast/Florida Walmart Supercenter Team. He earned a Bachelor of
Architecture Degree in 1984 from Kansas State University and has over two decades of experience in design and
construction of large scale projects. Michael became an Associate in 2007. His interests include his
family, vocal music, church activities and working with his Boy Scout Troop.
Bart Brown, AIA Bart received a Bachelor of Architecture in 1988 from the University of Kansas. Bart has two decades of Architectural experience, and maintains Registration in 2 states. He joined BRR in 2003 and became an Associate in 2007. In the Fall of 2007, Bart moved to Arkansas to lead BRR’s Arkansas Office. A Kansas native and avid KU fan, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his two daughters Audrey and Claire.
Steve Kellen, AIA, CSI Steve joined BRR in 2003 and became an Associate in 2007 in our Phoenix office. He
graduated from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale with a Bachelor of Advanced Technical Studies
and an Associate in Architectural Technology in 1994. Steve is Regional Manager for the Arizona division
of the Walmart Supercenter Team, which is responsible for entitlement, production, and construction of
new stores. His hobbies include spending time with his family, photography, and hiking in the many parks
Arizona has to offer.
James Lee, AIA, CSI, CCS Jim joined BRR in 2003 to oversee the Walmart Specifications team for both new store and remodel projects. Since then his role has expanded to include the development of specifications for other clients, as well as involvement in Quality Control. He graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Environmental Design in 1977 and has three decades of experience in a variety of project types. Jim became an associate in 2007. His interests include his family, church and home projects.
Abbas Haideri, LEED® AP Abbas joined BRR’s domestic and international programs in 2003. He has a Bachelor’s in Architecture (1991), and a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning (1993) from the CEPT University, Ahmedabad, India. He is a Registered Architect in India. He also has a Master's in Urban Planning - Land use and Environmental (1996), from the University of Kansas. He became a LEED® AP in 2005. An Associate since 2007, he lives in the Kansas City Metro with his wife and daughter. He enjoys photography, travel, family and friends.
Kathy Kem, AICP, LEED® AP Kathy has been with BRR since 2002 and has been successfully entitling projects for the Walmart Supercenter team using her 10+ years experience as an urban planner. She holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Troy State University, and is currently working on her PhD in Management and Leadership from Walden University. She received her LEED accreditation in 2006 and AICP Certification in 2001. Kathy became an Associate in 2007. Her interests include vocal music, cake decorating and bicycling.
Ed Jarboe, AIA, LEED® AP Ed earned a Bachelor of Architecture Degree from the University of Kansas in 1973 and has 35 years of experience in all areas of architecture. He joined BRR in 2001, is a registered Professional Architect in Kansas (1977) and Missouri (1996); holds a NCARB Certificate; is a LEED Accredited Professional; and is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Ed serves as director of BRR’s Academy of Professional Development and is the Intern Development Program (IDP) Coordinator. Ed serves as an IDP Auxiliary Coordinator-at-large member of the IDP Subgroup for AIA national. Ed became an Associate in 2008. His family keeps him inspired and he enjoys woodworking, golf, photography, and travel.
Jill Lyons, AIA Shortly after graduating from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1994, Jill discovered her passion was in restaurant and food service. She worked for a national casual dining chain before joining BRR in 2003 to manage the Wal-Mart Grocery Site Adapt program where she continues to build her expertise in food service operations and health department conformance. Jill became an Associate in 2008. An avid reader, Jill also enjoys working on home remodeling projects with her husband Steve, and spending time with their children; Zach, Justin and Luke.
Tony Garza, AIA Tony Garza, AIA is a graduate from the University of Houston with a Master's in Architecture. He has fourteen years of architectural experience in retail, recreation and mixed-used building types. Tony joined BRR in 2007 and was instrumental in opening an office in San Francisco that manages projects in the west coast states. He enjoys cycling to work and spending time outdoors with his wife and twin boys.
Zack Marquardt, AIA, LEED® AP Zack joined BRR in 2000 and manages the Grocery prototype design studio. He graduated from the University of Missouri – Columbia where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Housing Design. Zack earned his LEED certification in 2006 and architectural registration in 2008. Adding to his passion for grocery and retail design his experience includes restaurant design, site layout, and millwork design. Zack enjoys vacations and spending time with his friends and family. On winter weekends he can be found helping in the family owned pecan harvesting business.
Matt McDonald Matt, who leads our Architectural Illustration Studio, joined BRR in 2001 as a 3d Graphic Artist. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in industrial design from the University of Kansas. Matt is a member of the Johnson County Community College (JCCC) Animation Advisory Board. He is passionate about KU sports, music, jogging and enjoys spending time with his friends and family.
