Nationwide Site-Adapt Experience
BRR is vigilant about maintaining access to and fully understanding all nationwide codes. Even with the advent of the international codes, various jurisdictions either amend the adopted international code to satisfy local requirements or continue to enforce one of the original model codes. By maintaining a well stocked library system, BRR is knowledgeable of every change. In addition, we also have memberships with the International Code Council and the National Fire Protection Association. Such membership provides us with direct access to staff members who can provide clarification or specific interpretations to any code.

Case Study: Meeting Exceptional Expectations…Everyday

BRR demonstrates an ability to reduce review time while maintaining positive relationships with jurisdictions through the life of the project – and beyond.

Brad Moore Brad received a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Design from the University of Kansas. With nearly 15 years of service in various Municipal planning positions, Brad joined BRR in 2002, and currently leads our Permitting Team.

Our Challenge
We live in a time of ever-expanding governmental regulation and restriction on the design and development of our built environment. Over the past several years, major reforms in community planning, zoning, and building safety have resulted in a dramatic increase in the number of municipal jurisdictions involved in the oversight of land development projects in most parts of the country.

While this trend primarily originated in urban areas, an unprecedented number of smaller communities are now adopting similar measures in an effort to avoid the negative effects of developmental sprawl often experienced in larger communities.

Our Solution
BRR experienced the impact of this trend first-hand, as our designers found themselves having to dedicate ever-increasing amounts of their time toward project review, approval and permitting-related issues. Recognizing this, BRR set out to establish an in-house team of experts in the field of code comment response, project tracking and permit expediting. BRR's "Permitting Team" was created in 2002.

Since that time the team has expanded both its staff and range of services in order to maximize time spent on design and minimize delays in project schedules. The preparation of comprehensive code response packages, discussing issues of concern with jurisdictions and contractors, and keeping clients apprised of project status - - it's all within the scope of BRR's Permitting Team.

The key to the team's success has been a simple one - - a winning combination of written, verbal and interpersonal skills combined with a genuine desire to succeed on behalf of the client.

Our Results
And the results are in! BRR's Permitting Team has repeatedly demonstrated its ability to reduce review time while maintaining positive relationships with jurisdictions through the life of the project - - and beyond.
