For their move from a suburban office building to Kansas City’s historic Corrigan building, Holmes Murphy wanted a design that blended colorful and modern elements with the building’s original character, and capitalized on its prime location and downtown views.
Exposed brick, concrete floors and original materials are prominent throughout the space and showcase the building’s historical elements. Simple furniture forms and the open layout play off the natural form and industrial design of the Corrigan building. The furniture is also mobile and can fit in multiple areas depending on the style of space and work required to maintain the desired flexible work environment. Conference rooms, offices, team and lounge areas were placed along the outer perimeter to allow for maximum views of the downtown scenery.
